Dreadful to me is the discipline of finance in the raw twilight

My Dear Mrs. White:

I do so hope you do not think me dreadfully rude, Mrs. White, but I would be horribly remiss if I failed to point out that I once served Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr. in a public house. I knew Lord Kennedy—only, of course, in a strictly platonic sense. Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr. was a dear, dear friend of mine. The dearest and most gracious gentleman friend that a proper young woman could have. Madam, and do again please forgive me for the frankness I am about to engage in, you are no Joseph P. Kennedy, Sr.

Most Affectionately Yours,
